Green Creek Hut Company Summer 2021 launch with, ‘The Bathing Machine.’

The Bathing Machine or Oirr Yn Ushtey meaning Water’s Edge, is a contemporary version of an Edwardian seawater bathing machine. Three years in the making, this hand crafted hut is unique, being one of only a handful in the British Isles. Detailed and presented for you to enjoy a special day out on Port Erin Beach, once the home of many similar machines from the heydays of segregated sea water bathing.
20% Discount for July weekdays.

Green Creek Hut Company is aiming to site singular, individually unique huts of character around the Southern peninsula for recreational and educational use. Available for day hire only, Owner Nick Davies explains,

Oirr Yn Ushtey is the first hut, built through my interest and journey through open water or wild swimming. It was a must for me to have this small hut on the beach for the renter to enjoy the day in a uniquely different way. Once you sit down and take the view through the doorway, a calm descends, and your relaxation can begin. I‘ve created a space for you to adapt to your needs, put the back rest down and curl up to the sounds of the gently lapping sea and doze, enjoy your picnic across the table with the company of friends or simply stare out to sea and imagine what it would be like to be dressed, and assisted by the attendant in 1904, down the steps preserving your modesty to take the waters!
