Whilst coronavirus has undoubtedly encouraged local residents to take staycations, even before the lockdown occurred, visitor demand for self-catering holidays and short breaks was on the increase. As a result, at Island Escapes we have been steadily growing our portfolio of high-quality holiday homes, we now manage over 50 properties and are often inundated with enquiries. This has led to a rethink on how we handle our entire booking and back office procedures.

Island Escapes founder John Keggin: “It’s become clear that we need to work alongside a company with a proven track record in travel booking and accommodation packages. So we have taken the decision from this point on to engage the support of Isle of Man Travel Services, to facilitate  our accommodation bookings and handle our back office administration, allowing my team to focus on developing the guest experience and continue to professionally market and manage the properties in our care. Sally Helwich’s company has 30 years’ experience in this sector and has the necessary expertise to handle this vitally important area of our business. Looking ahead, once travel restrictions are lifted and we can return to welcoming visitors from the UK and elsewhere, we believe Isle of Man Travel Services can provide a long-term solution to ensure a seamless service for our clients”

Sally Helwich, Isle of Man Travel Services: “We are delighted to be partnering with Island Escapes and assisting with their current level of demand. Our two companies will remain completely separate entities, but this arrangement is both practical and sustainable in the short, medium and long-term"

For the time being, local residents who may be considering a staycation are invited to drop by either of the two companies offices’ to chat through what’s currently on offer; Island Escapes are based just off Strand Road in Port Erin, whilst Isle of Man Travel Services are at 15a Village Walk in Onchan.
