Island Escapes raise £7,500 for Manx Wildlife Trust

We began our partnership with Manx Wildlife Trust back in 2018 providing options to our guests, who arrive from all over the UK and further afield to place a donation when making a booking with us.

Island Escapes, a local tourism operator, selected Manx Wildlife Trust (MWT), being the leading conservation charity on the island, to receive their support as they share the same principles. John Keggin, Managing Director of Island Escapes which operates holiday cottages and apartments in beautiful coastal and countryside locations, was keen to support the efforts of MWT to improve the environment on the island for nature and people alike.

Guests of Island Escapes have had the option of donating to MWT conservation work whilst making their bookings, enabling visitors who arrive from all over the UK and further afield to support the efforts of the charity. As their business has grown over the years, the bookings they have taken have increased and so have the donations to MWT and in 2022, Island Escapes helped raise a whopping £7,500 for MWT! This incredible donation will be used to support the important work of MWT, protecting our iconic natural environment and the species that call the Isle of Man their home.

John Keggin, Managing Director of Island Escapes said:

“We’ve been delighted to support the work of Manx Wildlife Trust since the early days of Island Escapes. MWT has proven to be a perfect partner for our business with our values closely aligning.”

Manx Wildlife Trust, celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, works with members, both corporate and individual, the public and volunteers on their mission to protect and enhance our environment, create more spaces for wildlife, and inspire people to act for nature.

Island Escapes and Manx Wildlife Trust are now excited to be taking their relationship to the next level with the holiday lettings agency signing up to a corporate partnership with the charity. The benefits of a corporate membership being fun staff engagement activities such as a guided walk through one of their beautiful nature reserves or an interesting lunch and learn educational talk. The most important benefit of the partnership being the ability to work closely on initiatives that promote their joint ambitions of a better environment for all.

Leigh Morris, CEO of Manx Wildlife Trust, and John Keggin who both sit on the Visit IOM Agency Board, share the same ambition of creating more places for wildlife with the help of local companies to benefit wildlife and people on our Island. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore some of the 26 nature reserves managed by MWT whilst staying in the accommodation that Island Escapes manages, creating the Isle of Man as one of the top destinations for ecotourism in the British Isles.

Leigh Morris, CEO of Manx Wildlife Trust commented:

“MWT are delighted to be growing our partnership with Island Escapes. Their support for, and promotion of our conservation work has been fantastic over recent years and I’m personally excited on the potential for us to work more with John, Jamie and their team to develop our collaboration further. There is a tremendous opportunity for us to raise the profile of eco-tourism in the IOM and encourage more visitors to the Island to experience and enjoy #ManxNature”
