Our apartments offer flexible accommodation with zip and link beds which can be configured as either a superking double or a twin, in a studio sytle setting with an open plan living, dining, and kitchen area and a separate shower room.
Your comfort is our priority! All beds have Egyptian cotton sheets and their own wet rooms as well as the convenience of keyless door entry. If you're planning on spending a day enjoyng the Great Manx Outdoors then we have a boot room with lockers for the exclusive use of visitors. You'll be able to safely store outdoor gear, bikes and equipment, plus we have wash-down facilities.
After a long day outdoors, why not chill out on the comfortable sofa in front of a 40" flat screen smart TV by our cosy fireplace. Our kitchen is custom built with all modern appliances and a dining area for two.
Children of all ages (and the young at heart) can take advantage of the recently refurbished playground featuring the historic Victorian water-powered carousel, a grass paddock ideal for picnics, barbecues and outdoor games, is situated adjacent to the playground. Their day wouldn't be complete without hiring a pedalo or kayak on the Monks lake.
There is a series of marked walks centred on the Silverburn river. These river walks illustrate the importance of the water power of the Silverburn in times gone by as they pass the weir and watercourses of the Silverdale Mill. Further downstream is the old Ochre and Umber Mill. This mill is now a private house but its dam is preserved in the lower section of Silverdale Glen.
Further downstream is the 14th century Monk's Bridge and historic site of Rushen Abbey.
There is free on-site parking though a short stroll through the glen will take you to Ballasalla village where you will find a convenience store, a pub and two restaurants. Ballasalla is also well-served by public transport both from Douglas and the Airport. There is a regular, frequent bus service every twenty minutes and the village is also served by the famous Steam Railway.
The TrailLodge property features a fantastic waterwheel that was used for the building's original purpose as a corn mill. The refurbished wheel generates clean, sustainably-generated electriciity for the benefit of visitors staying there, a unique feature in the Isle of Man.
We look forward to welcoming you!
