Sarah's Cottage is a 4 Star Gold Award beautiful recently renovated traditional terraced cottage in the heart of Castletown, the Isle of Man's ancient capital with its narrow streets and fishing cottages. With a deceptively spacious living area the cottage has been finished to a high standard with an ensuite double bedroom, a single (which contains a double bed) and a study which has a comfortable sofa bed which can be made up to sleep a further person if required - please let us know on booking and we'll happily oblige.
To the rear of the house is a lovely quiet, private garden which makes for a great suntrap in the summer.
Located a stones throw from the Isle of Man airport the cottage is also close to the main bus route and the railway station is only 5 minutes walk away, making this the perfect base for those who are travelling without a car, but also appealing to the business traveller. In recent years Castletown has been experiencing a transformation with the historic town now known on the island for a fantastic range of places to eat and drink, all just a few minutes walk from the doorstep of Sarah's Cottage.
The history of the town and island are illustrated in four Manx National Heritage sites in the centre of Castletown: Castle Rushen (at the centre of the town) was originally built in 1265 for a Norse king, then fortified and added to by successive rulers between the 13th and 16th centuries; The Nautical Museum (in the secret passage-filled home of inventor, politician, banker and probable smuggler George Quayle); the Old Grammar School (originally a church from AD 1200) and the Old House of Keys.
The Southern 100 motorcycle races take place in July each year and start of the course start/finish is just a minutes walk from Sarah's Cottage.

"If you don't know Castletown then you're in for a treat. It's a lovely spot. Sarah's cottage is a very short and easy walk into the centre of Castletown which has a surprising number of restaurants and attractions for such a small place. The house is very light inside and there are double doors leading out onto a nice secluded garden. Everything is quite new inside and in A1 condition, it is also scrupulously clean. We would book again given the opportunity." Dean - stayed July 2019
"Sarah’s Cottage really is as lovely as it sounds. Very spacious and comfortable. Thank you for a great stay. We will be back!" Sally - stayed August 2019
