Loved it - great escape from busy life - highly recommended. Constructive feedback - track up to farm is a bit rough and brochure with information in accommodation is somewhat out of date.
Amazing place to stay surrounded by mountains on a lovely friendly working farm, owners so helpful. We will definitely maybe be back, if were lucky enough to be able to come over to IOM again, Thankyou
Lovely location, very comfortable, we enjoyed our stay very much.it was Excellent! We had the best place for our visit to Peel??
The farm is a little off the beaten track (and therefore very peaceful) and if you like animals this is the holiday venue for you. The owners make you feel very welcome and by prior arrangement you can accompany the farmer on the morning feeding round. The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped and the welcome pack of Manx bread, butter and milk and cheese (and a few yummy chocolates) was much appreciated.
I've already filled in a paper questionaire and the visitor's book but in short the only thing that needs attention is the lighting system above the dining area as some light bulbs not workingAs for value for money we find that your prices are rather high compared with Sykes holiday lettings for properties of a similar size and facilities. However it is in a fabulous location. The only down side is the long rather bumpy drive up the access road but again it certainly acts as a traffic calming solution! It certainly won't stop us going there again though as we have already booked another week's stay in September.Allan Knott
Cosy, comfortable beds, kitchen and TV a little tired . Good location known to us as Island residents.
The Bryer was great and had all we needed to relax. The beds were very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay there. Hopefully we will return. The Anderson family and Island Escape were very helpful.
Beautiful House Beautiful Landscape Beautiful hospitalty Access Road could be a little bit better....
Location worked for us, gave us a base to explore the island. As a self catering facility, we also cooked evening meals and used all the amenities.Although its a compact space, its more than adequate for the time spent there.
A little gem all that you need is provided. Wonderful hosts would highly recommend there are no negatives to this property
A very comfortable cottage in wonderful surroundings enhanced by the presence of all the farm animals. a very pleasant walk into Peel of just two miles was rounded off with coffee and snacks at the delightful beach cafe.
We had a great time staying at the Byre. The cottage is very comfortable and the countryside is beautiful. Fiona and John are very kind and helpful people.
Excellent accommodation perfect for our needs (good associated accommodation with the bunkhouse and the cafe for us to run activities).
Cottage was comfortable and in a very pleasant location, ideal for exploring the island.Ive given 3 stars for cleanliness, mainly because the dishwasher clearly hadnt been cleaned properly for a very long time. It took me a while to discover that the spray arms were totally blocked, which is why all items were coming out dirty.Wi-Fi was not reliable, and there was no smart TV. A good selection of games was provided which we enjoyed playing instead. More pegs and glasses are needed.Emails to island escapes during my stay regarding our departure were not responded to. We were also not told in advance that our stay fell during lambing live, which meant hundreds of people passed by our cottage every day. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay.
Beautiful location in the great surrounding of a farm with the best hosts you could hope for. Would recommend visiting for anyone!
Really enjoyed my week in this warm and comfortable cottage. Well located for exploring the island and a couple of good decent-sized walks available from the door (and a shorter one very conveniently into Peel).
What a fantastic week we had, The Byre did exactly what it said it would do, lovely welcome warm and cozy, perfect for my elderly dad as all on the level and a seat in the wet room so perfect for him, nice warm log burner made it feel like a home than a holiday let, would not hesitate to book again and definitely recommend it to family and friends, thank you island escapes. Peanut our little dog absolutely loved it, especially the donkey.
The Byre is a peaceful and tranquil base for anyone wanting to explore the Isle of Man. The Byre itself is very well equipped and maintained and although it is quiet it is only a 10 minute drive to Peel. You can also walk to Peel in about 30 minutes surrounded by stunning scenery. Highly recommended!
Our stay was fine, it was our first time but just a few disappointing points,No welcome pack of wine, cheese, milk as described before our arrival,No outside light above the entry door,Basin in wet room bathroom partially blocked,No mirror light in en suite bathroom,Cutlery and glasses either mismatched or missing
Lovely cottage on a farm complex converted from a former pigsty - no trace of former occupants! Delightful and friendly hosts and a perfect location for exploring the lovely island
Lovely friendly hosts set in beautiful countryside dog friendly with excellent walks accommodation has everything you need for a perfect self catering holiday
We enjoyed the relaxed nature of the Byre and the views surrounding us. The Byre is extremely comfortable especially the lounge. Friendly surroundings and hosts. Highly recommend
A very well equipped property and perfect for my 90 yr old Mum with the accessible bathroom. Suitable for 4 people to sleep but with family on the Island it was very comfortable when 6 others came round to visit for the afternoon. It would benefit from having some mats at the entrance as it rained when we arrived and the tiled floor got very muddy and slippery. Also some of the cleaning was not as thorough as it could have been. Overall though it was a wonderful place to stay.
A fantastic property on a working farm, The Byre is a converted barn and all the rooms benefit from the high ceilings. It is well laid out and very spacious. There was everything we needed for our first visit to the Isle of Man and we are definitely going to come back with friends!
Fiona & John are excellent hosts on this busy working farm. The Byre is a comfortable and cosy property with fantastic views in a quiet location. Ideal for restful breaks and active holidays alike with great walks on the doorstep. Highly recommend a visit in any of the Knockaloe Beg accommodations.
Stunning location and great accommodation. John and Fiona were perfect hosts. We enjoyed feeding the animals with Brandon who was very informative. The Byre was very comfortable and had a lovely little garden. We also made use of the sauna and bbq hut and had a very relaxing afternoon. We would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
