Ellan Vannin is one of a collection of refurbished listed buildings in an historic area of Castletown in the south of the Isle of Man. Adjoining the Bailey Scott designed former Police station and right next to Castle Rushen, a medieval castle once the home to the Kings and Lords of Mann the area is steeped in history. Overlooking the harbour and waterfront, cross over the footbridge in front of the property and you'll find the Nautical museum. Uncover the story of the inventive George Quayle and his most significant surviving creation Peggy, the earliest known example of a British armed yacht.
Ellan Vannin has been lovingly refurbished to a very high standard, with 3 bedrooms and a comfortable open plan lounge and dining area providing a great space for socialising and entertaining. A rooftop conservatory and terrace overlooking the harbour and castle provides a welcome spot to enjoy a drink or two whilst watching the world go by. Next door is Packet House, which sleeps 4 so could be booked together for a larger group.
Castletown is a great base for a holiday, just 5 minutes from the airport and with a wide range of bars, restaurants and cafes close by. The historic Steam Railway runs through the town connecting it with the islands capital, Douglas and the seaside villages of Port Erin and Port St Mary.

Location, Location, LocationOur 'staycation' at Ellan Vannin was a great success. A lovely property in a great location. We enjoyed actually staying in Castletown instead of visiting for the day from the north of the Island. Plenty of good walks to suit all tastes and abilities, nice atmosphere in the town and good pubs and restaurants. Island Escapes were all that one could wish for, and we will certainly book with them in the future.

Wonderful propertyWe loved our stay at Ellan Vannin. Island Escapes have put a lot of thought into making the facilities excellent and the little touches make a big difference, especially when travelling with young children. The welcome pack is just the icing on the cake. We had a fabulous stay and cant wait to stay at one of their other properties in the near future.

Castletown StaycationGreat location for staycation, in comfortable well equipped property. within easy reach of town centre pubs, restaurants and coastal walks. Just park the car and forget it. You won't be needing it until your going home. Highly recommended.
