Set within the grounds of a 19th century water mill, this delightful single level self-catering holiday cottage has the perfect mix of private rural setting and easy access to Castletown’s numerous pubs, eateries, railway station and picturesque harbour all within a leisurely 10 minutes walk.

Dove Cottage is perfectly situated for the Billown course where the Southern 100 and pre and post TT classic motorbike races take place, with the start and finish line a short walk across one of the biker friendly local farmer's fields. The property is ideal for enthusiasts choosing to visit the island for any of the numerous events staged during the year. There is ample parking for cars and motorcycles at the cottage too!

History lovers are equally well provided for with Castle Rushen, one of the worlds best preserved medieval castles within easy walking distance. The charming Isle of Man Steam Railway, showcasing wonderful Victorian-era engineering, passes the bottom of the long private driveway leading to Dove Cottage. Hop on at Castletown station and journey south for beach days in Port Erin!

If you stay at Dove Cottage you will be surrounded by history. It is next to Golden Meadow Mill, built in about 1815 on the site of earlier mills dating back to the start of the 1500s. It is a listed building and one of the most complete mills on the Isle of Man, which is showcased annually to group tours organised by Manx National Heritage.

Why not make the holiday complete by bringing your dog with you. With Castletown’s dog friendly beach also within 15 minutes walk, the expansive sands either side of high tide provide the ideal place to take in that early morning walk or evening stroll before a cosy evening in front of the log burner.

Janette, Stowmarket - June 6 "Lovely little stone cottage, could be cleaner..."

Lovely little cottage, but honestly, it ought to be cleaner. So many spider webs and spiders in a property, next to the bed, in the bathroom and in the kitchen cupboards...The crockery was all in need of a good wash before it could be used.Dust was very prevalent, so the cottage requires a thorough clean. The location is super for the TT and Southern 100 if you're a bike fan, which we are. We really enjoyed being so close to the action but also far enough out to avoid road closures and explore the island at will. The small garden is accessed by a large step up, so bear that in mind if you or your dog is short...

Caroline, Welshpool - May 26 "Perfect location, lovely cottage"

Of course sunshine helps make a holiday memorable, but our stay at Dove cottage would have been good in any weather. Its perfect for a couple and the location - just on the edge of Castletown combines bustle and peace. Watch all the nesting birds in the courtyard, or go to the harbour for the whirling swifts and swallows. Listen for the steam train approaching or the planes, we enjoyed them too!James from Island escapes solved our minor problem by calling in on our first morning, it reassured us we could ask for help if needed. The wood burner was very well stocked, but not used, and the welcome supplies appreciated on a Sunday evening arrival. The information provided covers so much, perhaps put recycling information in the house file too? Great stay at Dove cottage, thanks all!

Jordan, - May 26 "Excellent stay In Dove Cottage"

Dove cottage was the perfect stay for us! The cottage itself was immaculate and had everything needed for cooking, cleaning and towels, WiFi etc, as well as a lovely welcome pack upon arrival. The garden is a great size with chairs to sit and enjoy the weather. The owner (Jackie) was always helpful if we needed anything and very accommodating. The Cottage is based on an old working Mill which has fantastic views around and only a short walk into Castletown, which has many shops, pubs and restaurants. The local transport to access other areas of the island is only a five minute walk, with the steam train being a personal favourite. We will definitely come back here to stay when we visit the Isle of Man next time.

Mark, Blackpool - May 4 "Let belt quaint property "

We had a week at Dive cottage and loved it. Its a lovely quaint property with great facilities and location. Its very quiet and private yet close to Castleton. It was well appointed and clean and a useful guide book left either some provisions to get us started. We would happily stay there again. The only small complaint we had is the settees are a little uncomfortable

Kevin, Castletown - August 22, 2024 "Highly Recommend "

We really enjoyed our stay at Dove Cottage in Castle Town. It was a perfect fit for me, my husband and 9 year old son. Really convenient as so close to the airport. It was very clean and has lovely decor. The Cottage is on Golden Meadow Mill property the views are lovely and the owners were very friendly and accomadating. I would highly recommend this cottage for couples and small families when visiting the Isle of Man.

Frank, Blackburn - July 27, 2024 "Castletown"

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in dove cottage. Everything about the accommodation, area, was first class. Especially the little hens which we enjoyed watching. A lovely touch from Island Escapes was a welcoming pack. Shame about the weather but nothing could be done about that!We would definitely stay here again.

Matt, - April 1, 2024 "Easter Getaway"

Our weekend away at Dove Cottage was nothing other than excellent. From the perfect location with a short drive from the airport to every amenity that you could possibly need in the property. The cottage was very clean and provided everything we needed as a base to explore the island and within a short walking distance to shops and brilliant pubs for food and drink. A lovely touch was the log burner for a cosy evening on the sofa. We will definitely be back in the future to explore more of the island.
