At this time of year we often get asked where would be that perfect Isle of Man cottage where you can get cosy in front of a roaring fire, whilst the rain batters down and the wind howls outside!

The autumn months can feel long, but what better way to break up the gap between the Summer holidays and Christmas than with two or three nights away, enjoying a change of scene at a cosy Isle of Man holiday cottage!

Whilst summer is traditionally our busiest time, we believe any time is good for a break on the Isle of Man, each season is very different, it is just how you approach it!

If you want to get away from it all, but don’t want to travel too far for a meal out or a good pint in the local pub then this is the property for you. There is a great choice of establishments all within easy walking distance from the front door.

Away from it all in a lovely rural setting these two cottages next door to each other are perfect for a couples getaway, or even for two couples. A short walk away is Silverdale, and both The Abbey restaurant and The Whitestone pub are both within walking distance too.

A special 5 star gold cottage steeped in history located on a narrow dreamy pedestrianised street in Castletown, close to the harbour. Everything is close by, fine dining at Kizuna restaurant or a great pub meal at The George, this cottage gives plenty of options. Embrace the elements with a walk out to the Langness peninsula or Scarlett point.

You can bring your four legged friend to this lovely cottage on Bank street in Castletown, with views of the castle and located just a minutes walk from the square, this is another great option when you don’t want to go far in the evening.

This coastal cottage lives up to its name more than ever at this time of year! When the sea is wild get cosy and listen to the crashing waves on the beach. Enjoy a pint of Bushy’s ale at the nearby Bay hotel with its welcoming roaring fire. Pet friendly, this cottage is great for a couples, but also sleeps up to 4 people.

Located a hop, skip and a jump from the beach at Peel, this 3 bedroom cottage was recently refurbished and is one of our most popular places in Peel for a short break. Located on Bridge street, a minute or so walk down the hill and you’ll find Roots by the sea for a great morning coffee!

Located within a dark sky area, you’ll be in for a treat when you stay here. The owners Lara and Adrian live next door so always ensure that you are made to feel very welcome when staying here. In addition to the log burner you’ll find a hot tub, sauna, bar and outdoor firepit. If you stay for 2 nights you’ll wish you’d have stayed longer!

Thie Spooyt, MaugholdSpooyt

If you need something bigger in the north then Thie Spooyt is also a great option. With 3 double bedrooms this modern conversion is located in a peaceful area, watch the twinkling lights of Point of Ayre lighthouse in the distance. With 2 log burners you’ll be spoilt for choice!

East Ballabane Farmhouse, AndreasBallabane

Another dog friendly holiday cottage, this traditional farmhouse is located in the far north of the island. If the weather is wet enjoy some facilities provided in the games room in the barn. Ramsey is around a 15 minute drive away.

The Coach House, PatrickCoach house

You'll find a huge basket of logs awaiting you at The Coach House. Located in a rural setting in Patrick, not far from Peel this is a real favourite for couples looking to get away from it all in the countryside. With an open plan kitchen and living area, it makes for a very social space.

Located within the Fistard area of Port St Mary this cute cottage is ideal for those who like walking. Not far from the Chasms, Spanish Head and The Sound, there are so many options for lovely walks nearby. Port St Mary village is a comfortable 10 minute stroll from the cottage.

Last, but definitely not least is Sea Breeze Cottage in Castletown. This cozy one bedroom cottage is located on Queen Street close to Castletown square. This dog friendly cottage sleeps 2, but there is also a sofa bed which can also be utilised for another person. It literally has everything you would think about with the term cosy cottage!
