Home from home
This is a well situated and well equipped modern house close to all amenities. The beach is close by. The house was perfect for our extended family stay. Plenty of space and perfect for 6 adults and two children. Room for personal space and family time. It is nicely furnished and immaculately clean. Would highly recommend it!

Excellent house in a great position.
The Arches Holiday Haven was fabulous. It is a large property and very comfortable. We were impressed with the nice touches like leaving bread, milk, cheese, biscuits and drinks. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms clean and had everything needed. The kitchen had everything required. The position of the house is ideal. You can easily walk into Port Erin where there are plenty of food outlets and supermarkets. It is also only a few minutes walk to the sea. Although we had a car with us we found that some days we left it behind and used buses, the steam train and the trams to get about. Buying a 'Go ' card is worthwhile if you plan on doing this. Timetables and lots of other information was provided at the house which we found useful. We loved the house and could happily live there. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a large 4 bedroom property in a ideal spot for exploring the island.

Family holiday
This is a beautiful property. We are a family of 6 adults and 1 infant. Everything we could possibly need was in the property. Central location in Port Erin. 5 mins walk to the beach. 3 mins walk to supermarket. We needed the twin beds made into double so contacted Island Escapes. This was dealt with very promptly. Very comfortable property. We visit Port Erin regularly. Will definitely use Island Escapes again..

Fantastic Holiday
From initial inquiry, booking and stay at The Arches Holiday Haven the experience was excellent. The location of the accommodation is also great and within easy reach of the beach, local shops, restaurants and bars. Have no hesitation in recommending Island Escapes and The Arches Holiday Haven.

Big house in a good location
The house was surprisingly large, more than enough room for the 6 adults in our party. The house was well furnished with extremely comfortable beds and good bathroom facilities. The outdoor space was lovely. There was an issue with the dishwasher but it was replaced and fitted the next day which was great customer service. As a self catering facility, the kitchen equipment was poor; the knives were blunt, there wasn't enough chopping boards, measuring equipment, casserole dishes etc. This wasn't an issue for us as we ate out most nights, but would be disappointing if you went with the intention of catering for yourselves. The location was excellent a 5 minute stroll into Port Erin, where you could stock up on provisions at the Co-Op or eat out - we went to the Fish & Chip shop and Byrons for a pizza both of which we would recommend. The steam train is available from Port Erin which we used to go to Douglas and Castletown and from Douglas we caught the Electric Railway to the top of Snaefell. Halfway up Snaefell is the Victory café which was also really good - worth the stop. Port Erin is a very good location as you can use alternative transport to get to most places if you don't want to drive.

Great cottage for a larger group
Cottage very comfortable and great location. Everything we needed for our stay. 5minute walk to beach or train/bus station.

Fabulous location with luxurious accommodation
Everything you could possibly need was in this accommodation. We only stayed three nights , could have stayed there forever. Downstairs bedroom allowed my husband, who has mobility issues, to enjoy his break even more. Only down side was there was no sea view but we knew that when booking. Door in downstairs en suite does not close properly ..otherwise superb.

Comfortable house for large family
The perfect house for a family of 8. There were ample seating in dinning area & living room. The beds were comfy & the towels large enough to cover you up! The showers were also very enjoyable & the jacuzzi bath the perfect way to relax after a walk up Bradda. Having the washing machine & tumble dryer on hand was very useful after a day on the beach. Out in the garden there was a nice seating area for sitting 4 comfortably & another 4 plastic chairs for the rest with a large bbq & a shed for storage. In the kitchen the only thing missing was a tea pot & perhaps a couple more oven trays! All in all a very good place to stay that was local to the amenities- shops, train station, buses, pub & beach.

The Arches Holiday Haven, Port Erin was the perfect location for our stay.
The accommodation was perfect for our needs, spacious, clean and comfortable for eight adults. The location in the town is ideal for all the amenities, of which there are many, including an excellent chippy, and great hospitality at the Station Hotel. The steam railway station for trips to Douglas is just a 5 minute walk away. Overall we had a great stay with much to do and see around the island and look forward to visiting again.

Excellent!!!
This house is superb in every way. 7 of us stayed for 4 nights and none could find any faults with it. The icing on the cake would be a hot tub!!! (maybe) The location was brilliant, you could walk to the center or beach of Port Erin, in less than 5 minutes. Will defiantly go back there next time we're in the IOM

Excellent property
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend arches holiday haven, Port Erin. Close to shops and beach. Maintenance were so fast when required - they were brilliant. There were a few bits that needed some attention but they didn't affect our stay

A very happy time
The house is furnished and maintained to a very high standard and we were delighted with it.. I have given a four for location only because I would have liked a sea view, but it is very accessible to the shops and sea front. Parking is perfect and off road. It is very quiet. We mainly cooked for ourselves, and another serving/oven proof dish would be useful as well as more cutlery, especially knives. Not a major issue. We had a lovely time

Arches. Island Escapes.
We had a wonderful stay, and the property was indeed 5 star rating. We missed a view, as we have previously stayed on the front, and it was not a short enough walk to the beach, as the position of the house on google maps appears closer, but is boxed in. We probably would not stay again, due to the cost of the week. It was difficult to locate the serving dishes in the kitchen cupboard as they were in a "hidden" cupboard. The sliding door between living areas failed to work, and the downstairs wardrobe door fell off. Thank you for the stay, All facilities were good, but the downstairs wet room failed to drain away quickly enough. Yours Sincerely, Christine Swindlehurst.

An ok stay but not 5 star
The property is ideally located for a short walk into town. There is plenty of cutlery and crockery in the kitchen. The beds are comfortable. We did find several issues in the property though. From the online pictures this property looks lovely but once inside you will see that, in several areas, it is in need of attention. On entering the property, directly after the cleaners have left, the ground floor was found to be gritty and clearly hadnt been cleaned properly. The upstairs flooring was also the same and had to be swept before being used. The kitchen bin emits a horrible smell and needs to be removed from the housing and fully disinfected. There are damaged furnishings and fittings, everywhere. In the living room gas fire doesnt work. The rear patio doors stick and are very hard to open and close. One of the sliding doors from the dining area into the living room dont work properly at all. The wardrobe door in the downstairs bedroom has slipped off the rails and doesnt work properly. The utility room door doesnt close at all and jams on the floor tiles. The downstairs shower has been poorly designed in that after a shower the entire bathroom floor is wet with dangerous puddles of water that doesnt drain away, so much so that the entire room had to be mopped after use. The TV remote doesnt work in the super king size bedroom, the blind also doesnt fit properly in this room leaving light to stream in early in the morning. There is loose wiring/lighting that hangs down under the kitchen cupboard. The bannister is loose from the wall at the bottom and there is general damage to the skirting at the bottom of the stairs. The lights on the cooker hood dont work. No bath mats were provided for any of the bathrooms. This property definitely requires attention to bring it up to the 5 star rating that is advertises.

house review
perfect location, very accommodating and no troubles with the house as a whole. occasionally the dishwasher would leak and the hot tap in the kitchen didnt seem to work. apart from this the house was perfect for a staycation, the garden was by far the best part!

An exceptional Xmas staycation
This is our second time in the Arches, it never fails to impress and nor does Island Escapes as there is everything in this house you would ever need. Huge bedrooms, loads of wardrobe space but the open plan layout downstairs is where this house performs. It is the perfect house to entertain, a cosy living room off of the spacious kitchen dining area with a huge TV and great internet. The little homely touches that island escapes provide is so well thought out, from the welcome hamper, cheese, milk, ice, coffee bags, fresh baked bread, down to the shampoo, hand wash, conditioner and cream from the white company. They had even put in a Xmas tree and various decorations. The garden is LED lit up at night and even though the house is central to Port Erin, you dont feel overlooked. Upon arrival, the house was spotlessly clean and unlike other companies, John, the company owner is a phone call away if needed. Such a memorable weeks stay, we really didnt want to leave, I would have no hesitation in recommending this house and Island Escapes for anyone holidaying in this house or any of their other properties.

This staycation was perfect for our family celebrating a special occasion.
The age of our family group ranged from an infant to a grandad of 70 and everyone of us really enjoyed our staycation. The facilities were excellent and the position of the property was ideal for easy access to the railway station, town centre and beach. We would stay at the property again and would certainly recommend it to others.

Grown up family staycation
Lovely property...well designed and stylish. 4 generous bedrooms, two en suite with comfortable beds. Plenty of equipment for us to use (cutlery, crockery, appliances etc. although we ran out of toilet rolls and bin bags!) Well thought out arrangements for keys and a nice welcome package of bread, coffee, milk, butter, biscuits and cheese. Overall, a home away from home.
