A leisurely walk away from Puffin Cottage lies local amenities. The Highwayman, a large family friendly pub, serves food and shows live sport. West Coast Fitness, the Western Swimming Pool and a Shoprite supermarket are also nearby.
Carry on past these amenities and drop into the historic town of Peel. Here you can discover the Island’s Viking heritage at Peel Castle and the House of Mannanan. Bask in the sun at either Peel or Fenella beach along with some local cuisine such as freshly fried queenies or some ice cream from Davison’s. Peel is also home to Moore’s Kipper Yard where you can still see Kippers, fish that has been split from tail to head and smoked being cured in the traditional manner.
Peel is a great base for walkers and cyclists with an abundance of hills and countryside nearby. Don't forget to take a look at the Raad-Ny-Foillan coastal footpath which winds through Peel, a perfect way to explore the coast. Alternatively there is The Triskelion Way Trail, offering varied walking conditions, glorious countryside and coastal views and historically significant places. Watersport enthusiasts are also catered for with kayak hire, fishing, boat trips and Basking Shark watch. It's also very common to see Dolphins in the bay! The Heritage Trail follows the old steam railway line from Douglas to Peel and provides an easy route for cyclists and walkers alike.

The place was absolutely beautiful , spotlessly clean and everything we needed , shops and pubs in peel , where easily to get to ,
Puffin Cottage delighted us from our very first moment there, to the last. So much so we immediately re booked for next year!What a beautifully, tastefully decorated, luxurious cottage, lifted further with gorgeous, well-chosen pictures and tokens of the sea!Blessed with sunshine all week, we had sunset meals on the patio as we relished trips to Peel, to the lovely Calf, trips on the steam train and electric trams All week long we feasted - on the cloud walking at Snaefell summit; the sweet delightful discovery of Laxey beach and Niarbyl; the smiles and waves and warmth we found in everyone we met along the wayThe Island Escapes guide was invaluable - the support and communications so timely and helpful.Thank you for a heavenly, heavenly holiday, provided for by you in every way!
Lovely cottage in peaceful environment. Super area and most inviting Island. Good centre although nothing is far away.
Lovely 2 bedroom cottage in a fabulous location with easy access to main roads to get around the whole island. Supermarket a few minutes drive away and a restaurant within walking distance. Extremely well equipped kitchen. Very useful welcome pack of bread, spread, milk and cheese together with coffee, tea and sugar. Very impressive speedy response from Island Escapes when we had a query. The only negative was the provision of hot water to the property due to the location of the boiler and hot water tanks in an adjoining outhouse, which they couldn't do anything about. Due to this we had to run the water for 4 - 5 minutes to get the hot water to the cottage before being able to take a shower. By the time the third member of our party showered the water was only warm rather than hot because the long run of water at the beginning meant a lot of cold water then entered the system and cooled the remaining water in the tanks.
This cottage was a fantastic place to stay, great location to everything in Peel. It had everything you could ever need for a stay, we stayed here for our first time watching the TT's, with a viewing point within walking distance. The view from the back yard was to die for, so peaceful. Everything was immaculate and the style of the cottage was perfect and I would definitely stay there again and would recommend anyone to stay here.

Puffin Cottage was very well equipped and welcoming. The interior was of a high standard with lots of nice finishing touches.We had a great time exploring the Isle of Man and took full advantage of the daily Go Explore Transport cards. It was also great to be able to use National Trust cards at many of the IoM heritage sites. The whole Island Escapes process was exceptionally good from start to finish. We would highly recommend booking through them.
Puffin Cottage is a beautuful, cosy, clean, well equiped place in a great location.It is very peaceful with lovely views and wildlife yet a short drive or walk into Peel where you will find everything you need and beautiful sunsets and in good weather views of Ireland and Scotland!We were pleasently surprised to also find bread, milk and cheese on our arrival as well as tea, coffe and sugar!Hope to be staying again soon!
