Very enjoyable break in the Isle of Man staying in Ard Mor, Castletown. Cottage was very spacious, well equipped and comfortable. Only a few minutes walk into town. Would recommend the double bed is replaced with a king as there is enough room, but not an issue. Island Escapes were very helpful and information very clear.\n
Myself and my two children enjoyed our stay, the cottage had everything we needed. It was clean, neat and with thoughtful touches of bread, butter, milk and coffee welcome on arrival. Everything was very good in the property. I will stay here again. A small note to be aware of is: the parking nearby is in a very narrow street, otherwise the location is good for walking into and around Castletown.
Very clean and well equipped. We had bread, milk, butter and cheese left for our arrival. The only problem we had was the shower. The drain was partially blocked which caused the shower tray to overflow. On the morning that we left, I noticed a small amount of water dripping down through the kitchen ceiling.
Decided to have a staycation in Castletown and we were very impressed with the service received from Island Escapes with all information necessary for our stay provided in advance. The property itself was finished to a high standard, was spotlessly clean and situated in a quiet street only a 5 minute walk away from the town centre.\nWould definitely recommend.
I had noted other reviewers mentioning the damp smell so I actually brought a diffuser with me for the stay, but it was so overwhelming every time we returned to the property, it was awful. Like another reviewer I am still trying to wash the smell of damp out of my luggage and clothes. \nThere is no allocated parking for this property and parking was more often not available and we had to park in the main square overnight a few times. \nThe bathroom door doesnt close or lock and you cant open the lounge window or kitchen window so it was impossible to get a fresh air flow through the ground floor. \nThese issues are fixable and I couldnt recommend staying in this property again until they are sorted.
I booked this cottage along with the 2 adjoining cottages for a friends get together. It was perfect as we were able to meet in one cottage for breakfast/drinks etc using the back doors and sit outside.\nThe cottages were very comfortable with everything we needed. When we arrived there were a few essentials (bread, milk, butter and cheese and a basket of tea and coffee bags) which meant we could have a much needed cup of coffee! \nThe location was great with only a short walk into Castletown.\nOne very little complaint was the parking, although we did manage to park a few yards up the road.\nAll in all a lovely place to stay and would recommend.
A slight damp problem in the external wall of the lounge which could be easily remedied by a specialist contractor
This property was one of the best equipped holiday homes Ive stayed in. It was cosy and comfortable and in a great location for exploring the south of the island. \n\nWhile we were staying we were aware of a slightly damp smell but soon got used to it. On returning home, Ive realised how pervasive the smell must have been. My bag, clothes and books now all have a musty smell that Im working to clean out. It may be the case that we were the first guests of the season, in which case the doors and windows might just need to be swung open for a while to get the fresh air in and the damp smell out! \n\n
