A cosy two bedroom cottage located in the heart of Laxey village, with a doorstep view of the Laxey
Book nowThe Little Blue House is a self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of Laxey village in the Isle of Man.
From the doorstep, guests can view the historic Laxey Wheel, named Lady Isabella. It is the largest working water wheel in the world, and assisted in pumping water out of the Laxey mines. The road The Little Blue House is situated on is known to locals as 'Ham & Egg Terrace', which originates from when the residents of this row of houses used to cook breakfast for the miners on their way to work!
Nearby The Little Blue House is a row of shops, with a mixture of convenience shops and locally owned cafes and gift shops.
There is a fine selection of pubs and restaurants in Laxey, all within walking distance! A fine place to eat is The Laxey Glen Cafe with it's head chef Pippa Lovell who recently impressed on MasterChef: The Professionals with her passion for using local and sustainable produce. Enjoy a bite to eat before or after your adventure up the iconic Laxey Wheel. Of course there is also Laxey beach, which is often buzzing with locals and tourists alike as they sip coffees, eat cakes and watch the waves roll in!
The Little Blue House is itself a cosy yet spacious cottage, sleeping four people in two double bedrooms. The log burner in the living area adds ambience and warmth, perfect for the colder months.

We had a short break for 4 days, on the TT Qualifying weekend. The location, regardless of the TT is ideal for quiet lazy walks to the beach, and seeing the main tourist attractions in Laxey.\n\nEverything is within walking distance from the property, with the Co-op just over the tram track for the essentials.\n\nThere is the Laxey Wheel just up the road, in one direction, and the Electric Tram to Ramsey and Douglas the other. For the more adventurous, there\'s the Mountain tram up to the top of Snaefell, with amazing views, weather permitting, and plenty of hiking trails for various levels of adventurer.\n\nWe particually enjoyed walking to the beach in old Laxey, and would recommend \'The Shed\' at the end of the sea front for a cuppa, and a bite to eat, while watching the waves.\n\nThe cottage is contemporary, quaint, but cosy, and suprisingly spacious inside. It is ideal for a couple, or a small family. The house and kitchen is well equiped with all the essentials, and the log burner is cosy on an evening.\n\nWe had a really relaxing stay, and would certainly revisit and recommend.
We stayed 20 nights at the house.\nIt was very central with good parking.\nThe stairs are quite steep and the turn around at the top 3 stairs difficult if poor mobility. Would do with an extra handrail.\nNicely presented\nComfortable beds\nTrams run at back of the place which is nice
