Key worker competition

COMPETITION NOW CLOSED - WINNER PAAIE MELLOWS!

Key workers have continued to keep our island functioning throughout the Coronavirus pandemic. 

Island Escapes offered the chance to nominate a key worker who deserved a well earned break to win a stay at Yn-Thie-Thooit  in the north of Isle of Man. A registered historic building, Yn Thie Thooit offers guests an unforgettable luxury retreat. The property is owned by Manx National Heritage and operated by Island Escapes on their behalf.

The competition closed on 31st July 2020 and the winner was drawn at random and has now been announced as Paaie Mellows. 

Paaie was nominated by her friend Jennifer with the following nomination:

My friend Paaie is a nurse at Nobles and has worked tirelessness throughout this pandemic taking care of Covid positive patients. She has the biggest heart of any person I know and in my mind has gone above and beyond during this pandemic. She noticed that patients were unable to talk to loved ones whilst sick in hospital and tragically some were unable to say goodbye. She decided to wipe the data from her personal iPad and brought it into work so that Covid patients could Skype there families at a time of great need. She also encouraged people to donate their snorkel masks so that they could be turned into ventilators and spent her days off collecting them around the island. On top of that she also found time to food shop for her vulnerable family members and be there for friends who were struggling with lockdown and so much more . I honestly think she deserves a medal but this would be great too. Please consider my incredible friend.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

- You can only nominate the same person once, but can nominate multiple people. 

- The recipient of the prize will be drawn at random during the first week of August 2020 and contacted thereafter. 

- The prize must be redeemed for a 2 night stay prior to 31st December 2021, and should be booked by contacting Island Escapes. Dates will be subject to availability. 

- By claiming the prize the recipient and nominator agree to take part in publicity relating to their prize.
