Our Team

Our locally based team are lucky enough to live and work on the beautiful Isle of Man. We love to share our passion for the Isle of Man with our guests and are happy to help with any queries you may have when planning your trip to the Isle of Man

Island Escapes is a privately owned business where the Directors, office staff, housekeepers and maintenance technicians are all involved to help to ensure our guests and homeowners are well looked after.


John Keggin - Managing Director

John has grown up in a tourism family with his parents and grandparents welcoming guests to Port Erin in the south of the island for many years.

John established Island Escapes in 2018, bringing a wide range of experience from a variety of marketing and operational roles, having worked within both financial services and tourism businesses in the Isle of Man and in Cornwall, including a spell working for a national holiday cottage lettings agency.

John is also a Non-Executive Board member of Visit Isle of Man and is passionate and committed to using his experiences to help develop the Isle of Man visitor economy.

In his spare time you'll find John enjoying the great Manx outdoors, sea kayaking, mountain biking or on duty as a local Coastguard!


Jamie Stott - Director

Jamie has a varied background including offshore trust and corporate finance, military service as well as working in the tourism and hospitality sector in Cornwall with John. 

Jamie has been involved with Island Escapes since its formation and operated ‘Island Cottage Care’, a housekeeping company until March 2022 when the two businesses were merged together.

In his spare time you’ll find Jamie sailing, playing tennis, enjoying photography or training as a crew member with the RNLI on Port St Mary’s Lifeboat.


David Thomas - Finance Director

David has been involved with Island Escapes since the very start. A qualified accountant, he works full time for local accountancy practise assisting Island Escapes throughout the year with a variety of tasks supporting John and Jamie. 


Nick Venables - Senior Property Management Co-ordinator

Nick joined our team in 2020 following graduating with a degree in Marketing from Liverpool John Moores University.

Nick supports the day to day operations of the business, helping guests who are staying with us with any queries they have. In addition to this Nick continuously ensures the information on our properties presented to our guests via our website and third party booking systems is as accurate and up to date as possible. 

You can often find Nick walking his dog, playing football or in the gym. He's also started recently renovating his first house.


Alex Maitland - Property Management Co-ordinator

Alex joined our team in 2023. Working alongside Nick managing the day to day operations of the business. 

Alex is proud to represent the Isle of Man, playing football for FC Isle of Man, this often involves travelling off-island to attend away games and training hard in his spare time.


James Walker - Property Maintenance Technician

James became a team member in mid-2021 after making a career direction change.

James coordinates and rectifies the maintenance issues brought up from the property portfolio. Years of experience from property developing mean he has a good knowledge base of all trades and how to identify and fix a fault. James also assists the rest of the team with admin-based duties and call outs accordingly.

Outside of work James is a father of three and enjoys racing his yacht around the Island and further afield.


Charlotte Miller - HR & Office Manager

Having many years’ experience in both HR and Operations, Charlotte is responsible for recruitment, HR, payroll, work scheduling for our housekeeping team, and general management of the back office ensuring all our staff are kept happy :)

Outside of work Charlotte is a mum of 5 (3 of the canine variety) and spends her spare time walking dogs, enjoying the outdoors, crafting and upcycling.


Tina Notman - Housekeeping Supervisor

Tina joined our team in February 2022 as a Housekeeper. Previously a stay-at-home Mum for 10 years, she has transferred her skills to Island Escapes. Now as our Senior Housekeeper, Tina has taken charge of the day-to-day scheduling of work and training our ever growing team of housekeepers, whilst also maintaining stock levels at our off site housekeeping unit.

Outside of work, Tina is a busy Mum of 4. Family time is her first love, but she keeps moving with a passion for yoga and paddle boarding.

Customer Services

At Island Escapes we work closely with our travel partners Isle of Man Travel Services who are based in Onchan. They handle the majority of our customer queries in advance of a stay with us, so it is highly likely you will speak to the team when calling to make a booking, pay your balance or enquiring about one of our properties.

You can also visit Sally and her team at their office in Onchan, where they will also be pleased to assist you with any queries you may have, from tourist information through to a question about your booking or a new enquiry.  


We are lucky to have a fantastic team of over 30 housekeepers who work hard to ensure our properties are in perfect condition for our guests. They are often not seen by our customers and very much the unsung heroes of our operation, but are all valued members of our team.
